HURFOM: On September 25, 2023, a tricycle driver was arrested by the military junta at Mee Laung Chaung check-point, Pu Law Town, Tenasserim Division.

HURFOM: On September 3, 2023, Surveillance Officer Ko Ko Lwin based at the Paung Police Station, Mon State was shot and killed.
In response to the killing, the military junta occupied Oak Tan Tar village, in Paung Township and arrested 15 villagers between September 6th to the 8th, 2023.

HURFOM: On September 21, 2023, about 70 military junta troops launched operations in the area of Dawei Deep Sea Port, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division.
Residents from Wet Chuang, Kha Maung Chaung, A Ka Ni, Wa Zun Taw and Ya Ngae villages had to flee their homes.

HURFOM: The junta launched military operations in the Eastern Forest area of Dawei Township, Tenasserim Division on September 18, 2023, and within four days arrested 16 local villagers to use as a human shield.
After leaving Dawei City the military then arrested five residents from Pa Khet village on September 19.

HURFOM: In Thane Za Ye Town, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State, the junta’s military battalions and police station launched frequent artillery attacks on civilians leaving ten injured within two days.

HURFOM | Week Three, September 2023
As September 2023 nears an end, the brutality of the Burma Army is ongoing. Thousands of civilians remain displaced and living in uncertainty of whether or not they will survive to the next day. The junta only knows war, and their violent strategies have deprived innocent people of their humanity. The Human Rights Foundation of Monland (HURFOM) is concerned that despite these horrible circumstances, the international community and various United Nations bodies continue to engage with the regime. As HURFOM noted on International Peace Day, the military junta is not a partner in peace.

HURFOM: On September 19, 2023, the military junta launched an artillery attack on Tenasserim Town, Myike District, Tenasserim Division and injured two monks.
The 557th Light Infantry Battalion based in Out King village, fired artillery shells at Baw Di Kam village and one exploded in the “Yadanar Baw Di” monastery.

HURFOM: On September 18, 2023, a military unit entered the East Forest area of Dawei Township, Tenasserim Division, forcing residents from seven villages to flee from their homes.
The military left the area on September 19 but another unit with about 50 troops entered the area on September 19 again.
