Junta’s drone attack injuries six residents in Tenasserim

HURFOM: A military regiment consisting of about 200 troops fought with the local People’s Defense Force in Burnlaw village track, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division, from September 4^th to 9^th, 2024.  The military junta employed drone attacks that injured six residents.

Local man steps on landmine and sustains serious injury in Thanbyuzayat

HURFOM: On September 10^th, 2024, a local man from Sa Khan Gyi (inside) village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State stepped on a landmine.  He sustained a serious injury to his legs and abdomen, from the explosion.

35-year-old Ko Ba Htoo and his wife were walking to a rubber plantation to do some cleaning when Ko Ba Htoo stepped on a landmine.

Displaced residents from Ah Nan Kwin village in need of aid

HURFOM: In the second week of August 2024, a huge battle between the military junta and the Karen National Liberation Army took place in Ah Nan Kwin village, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State, and more than 4,000 residents from nearby ten villages had to flee their homes.

Telecommunication networks cut off in Dawei’s Eastern Forest Area

HURFOM: Since September 1^st, 2024, the telecommunication network has been cut off in villages in the Dawei Eastern Forest Area, Dawei Township, Tenasserim Division.

Since after the attempted coup, only the Atom (Telenor) operator is available in this area. 

Telecommunication towers have to be run with gasoline generators due to the lack of electricity. However, the company’s staff have not come to refuel the generator since September 1^st creating a telecommunication blackout from Wa Gone to Hein Dar villages.

Passenger and two residents injured in Bilin Battle

HURFOM: On September 9^th, 2024, the joint resistance forces had attacked the “Tan Da Dar” security gate of the military junta nearby Tha Pyay Ne village, Bilin Township, Mon State and there was a heavy battle between two groups.

A passenger truck was stuck in the battle and a 37-year-old passenger Daw K Thi Oo who was from Ye Township was shot and sustained an injury at her waist.

Medicine shortage in Mon State brings trouble for patients with chronic diseases

HURFOM: For the last three years, since the attempted coup, the military junta does not have sufficient US Dollars to import needed medicines, resulting in frequent shortages of medicine across Burma.

Since June, 2024, hospitals, clinics and pharmacy stores have experienced shortages, especially medicines needed for chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart and kidney diseases.

Junta’s air assault injures child and an adult in Kyarinnseikyi

HURFOM: On September 9^th, 2024, a military junta fighter jet dropped a 300-pound bomb on Kyone Kha Wun village, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State and the ensuing explosion seriously injured a three-year-old child, Maung Win Min Nine, and 60-year-old U Maung Pane.

Local man beaten and arrested by junta’s security forces in Tha Yet Chaung

HURFOM: At about 8 pm on September 4^th, 2024, the security forces stationed at the “Pan Taw” security gate in Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division beat and arrested 30-year-old Ko Myoe Myint Nine.

Ko Myoe Myint Nine is from Tha Yet Hna Kwa village. He was stopped by security forces while traveling to Tha Yet Chaung Town. The forces claimed they found a lottery paper produced by the National Unity Government in the toolbox of his motorbike.

Junta’s soldier suspected of raping and killing his lover

HURFOM: Daw Chit Chit Htoo, aka Htoo Htoo worked as a primary school teacher from Mu Kwel village, Chaung Zone Township, Mon State

On September 8^th, 2024, she raped and killed by her lover Aung Thu Hein who is also a soldier with the military junta.

Junta’s artillery attack injures pedestrian in Bilin

HURFOM: On September 5^th, 2024, the junta’s regiment based at “Pagoda Hill” in Win Pyan village, Bilin Township, Mon State launched nine artillery attacks on Ah Luu Lay village.
