HURFOM: On September 27th, 2025, a junta regiment advanced into the Dawei Deep Seaport area in Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division forcing thousands of residents from six nearby villages to flee their homes.

The regiment consisted of many troops from battalions based in Long Lone Township.  They entered Yebyu Township after leaving the Maung Ma Kan Police Station. They launched military operations in Pan Ta Inn, Pane Shaung, Nyaung Pin Sake, Mudu and nearby villages.

Currently, the regiment has stationed themselves at the village monastery and in good and big houses in Mudu village. From here they’re launching military operations into nearby villages,” said a displaced man.

The military advance has forced more than 3,000 residents from Pan Ta Inn, Pane Shaung, Nyaung Pin Sake, Mudu, A Ka Ni and Kha Maung Chaung villages.

As the regiment advanced into the village suddenly, we’re unable to pick up our belongings. Some displaced villagers even forget to bring food. Now, we’re hiding in the forest and still unable to return home,” said a displaced man.

The regiment arrested a local man who has a visual impairment and seized his gold, cash and mobile phone.

On September 30th, an armed clash broke out nearby A Ka Ni village and the regiment torched four houses in the village.
