Junta-appointed Administrator and four civilians arrested in Long Lone

HURFOM: In the third week of November, 2023, a junta-appointed Administrator and four residents from Long Lone Town, Tenasserim Division were arrested by the military junta.
On November 16, Ko San Shay, the junta-appointed Administrator for Ward #C, Long Lone Town, was arrested by a joint team of soldiers and police forces at his home.

HURFOM: On the evening of November 16, 2023, the Southeast Military Command based in Ya Khine Gone village, Mawlamyine Township, Mon State was hit by a bomb dropped by a drone.
After the attack which was attributed to the revolutionary forces, the military junta tightened its security in Mawlamyine and began to stop pedestrians and check their ID cards and mobile phones, reported a local source.

A weekly update by the Human Rights Foundation of Monland (HURFOM) on the situation on the ground. Summary data includes Mon State, Karen State and Tanintharyi region.
As the conflict intensifies across Burma, civilians in the Southeastern part of the country also continue to face immense threats to their safety. Women and children are among the most vulnerable who have been routinely displaced. Their security is not guaranteed in IDP camps or temporary shelters as military aircraft can be heard circling above with the possibility of an attack imminent. There is trauma and widespread uncertainty as families struggle to cope amidst worsening circumstances.

According to sources close to the Mon State military council, the project failed due to villages choosing to make no contribution to the initiative.
