Residents from four Tenasserim villages flee due to constant armed clashes

HURFOM: Since October 27th, 2025, there have been frequent and constant armed clashes between the junta’s army and the local revolutionary forces in Lay Mile village and nearby areas, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division.

The fighting has forced the entire communities of Lay Mile, Phar Ni, Du Kyoe and Yay Khang Chauk villages to flee and find safe shelter.

More than 500 residents from four villages have fled their homes. They ran away barefoot. Some families brought nothing — they had to run immediately,” said a local resident.

The displaced villagers have taken temporary shelter at relatives’ houses or empty buildings. All are in urgent need of food and clothing.

From October 27th to 31st, there have been constant and heavy armed clashes. The locals said the junta’s army carried out more military advances after being reinforced with more troops.

The army’s airstrikes and artillery attacks killed two villagers and destroyed four houses in Lay Mile village.

According to the October 31st report by the FE5 Tanintharyi, the number of the displaced communities in Tenasserim Division who had to flee home due to armed clashes, military advances, extrajudicial killings, property destruction, airstrikes and artillery attacks, exceeds 80,800.
