Thousands of travelers stranded due to the destruction of Kyone Ate Bridge

HURFOM: On May 11th, 2024, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and its allies detonated a bomb destroying the Kyone Ate Bridge near Shwe Yaung Pya village, Bilin Township, Mon State. The destruction of the bridge has stranded thousands of travelers, according to local emergency and rescue teams.

HURFOM: On May 10th, 2024, the military junta used helicopters, jet fighters and navy ships to attack Ka Net Thiri village, Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division. The incursion killed three villagers.
The junta used two helicopters and a fighter jet to drop more than 20 bombs to Ka Net Thiri village and the navy ship anchored at the west of the village also launched an artillery attack on the village.

HURFOM: On May 9th, 2024, an unknown armed group killed a medic from Three Pagoda Pass Town, Karen State and burnt down his house, locals reported HURFOM.
Six members from unknown armed groups reached the house of the 60-year-old medic in Ward #3, Three Pagoda Pass using two motorbikes. They shot and killed the man at his house and then burnt down the house.

“The junta claimed that members of the People’s Defense Force were using the road so they destroyed it. They deployed a lot of troops to destroy the road, no one dares to repair it,” said a local villager.
