HURFOM: On February 13th, 2025, the 96th Light Infantry Battalion attempted to arrest a local man at home in Ma Log Chaung village, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State.

The junta claimed 50-year-old U Kyaw Aung tried to run away and was shot and killed.

HURFOM: On February 8th, 2025, a father attempted to rape his own underage daughter in Ya Tail Taung village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State.

While the mother went outside at about 8 pm, 38-year-old U Nine Win attempted to rape his 11-year-old daughter who fell asleep in her bed.

HURFOM: There has been an intense and constant battle between the military junta and the joint forces of the Karen National Liberation Army in Ah Nan Kwin village which is located beside Three Pagoda Pass – Thanbyuzayat Motorway, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State and the armed conflict has forced the entire population of the village to flee home.

Junta’s air assaults destroy 17 houses and a monastery in Bilin

HURFOM: On February 9th, 2025, the military junta launched air assaults on Ta Gay Long village, Bilin Township, Mon State which is under the control of the Thaton District Karen National Union.  The assaults destroyed 17 houses and a monastery, and damaged pagodas and religious buildings. Villagers were forced to flee their homes.

Underaged young man arrested in early February, by junta’s navy still not released

HURFOM: On February 6th, 2025, the Mawrawaddy Navy Command arrested a 17-year-old male and his friend from Taung Yin Inn village, Phar Chaung village track, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim.

The navy released the friend after both were interrogated but they detained the young man. He has not been released as of today.

Junta destroys seven houses in Tha Yet Chaung

HURFOM: On February 9th, 2025, one of the junta’s regiments launched a military operation in Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division. According to local sources, junta troops entered the village via Pan Pyin – Mell Nell Owl village on February 8th and within two days the troops burnt down and destroyed seven houses.

HURFOM: At 9 am on February 5th, 2025, in order to crack down on “call-scam gangs” based in the Thai-Burma border, the Thai government cut off the electricity to border towns such as Myawaddy, Tachileik and Three Pagoda Pass. The power cut was followed by the shutting down of the internet.
