Junta’s artillery kills local woman in Kyone Doe

HURFOM: On April 1st, 2025, even there was on active armed clash, the military junta had launched five 120-mm artillery attacks to Myauk Kyar Inn village track, Kyone Doe Town, Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State.

One of the artillery shells dropped and exploded into Wate Zar Gone village and a 57-year-old woman fell down after suffering from heart attack. Her occiput was hit by the base of a brick stairs and he died at the spot, according to the statement by the Karen National Union (Central).

The KNU released a statement that the military junta had been launching artillery attacks every day when the whole country had impacted by the deadliest earthquake and they had intentionally attacked non-military targets such as religious buildings, public clinics and hospitals, schools and residences of innocent civilians.

On February 1st, 2025, the That Thit artillery regiment operated under the 12th military operation command launched indiscriminate artillery attack and killed a woman and injured a 12-year-old child from Phar Kya village, Kaw Ka Rate Township.
