HURFOM: On January 20th, 2024, an armed clash between the military junta and the joint revolutionary forces took place near Maw Ka Nin village, Ye Township, Mon State. After the clash, local military bases recklessly and indiscriminately launched artillery attacks on nearby villages that killed a 12-year-old girl from R Yu Taung village.

HURFOM: On January 19th, 2024, a traveling monk stepped on a landmine near a military junta’s check-point between Tha Yet Hna Kwa and Pan Pyin villages, Tha Yet Chaung Township, Dawei District, Tenasserim Division and sustained a serious injury.

Since the attempted coup, child rape cases have increased in Mon and Karen States but nearly none have been reported to the police or brought to the courts.

HURFOM: On January 21st, 2024, another 50 houses in Ward #5, Kaw Ka Rate Town, Karen State were burnt down, local residents reported to HURFOM.
Both the military junta and the joint revolutionary forces are active in Kaw Ka Rate and there has been ongoing heavy battles as of January 22nd.

HURFOM: On January 19th, 2024, the military junta launched artillery attacks on Tattoo Gone village, Dough Yat village tract, Bilin Township, Mon State killing four women, reported a local rescue team.
The 314th Artillery Regiment based in Zee Wun village, launched the attacks that killed four women and destroyed two houses.

HURFOM: At 7 am on January 20th, 2024, an armed clash took place at the “Suspension Bridge” police check-point near Maw Ka Nin village, Ye Township, Mon State and some travelers sustained minor injuries.
The joint revolutionary forces attacked the police base which had about 100 troops and hundreds of vehicles and travelers were stuck in the armed clash and some sustained injuries.

HURFOM: At about 10 am on January 1st 2024, the 9th Light Infantry Battalion based in Thaton launched at least eight indiscriminate artillery attacks on V Yaw and Htone Boe Gyi villages. There had been no provocation by revolutionary forces to warrant an attack.
