Junta arrests six residents in Ye: Accusing them of supporting the PDF

HURFOM: On September 10th, 2024, 45-year-old U Aung Maung, 19-year-old Ko Bo Bo and 20-year-old Ko Aye Min Latt, all from Yan Myoe Aung Ward, Ye Town, Ye Township, Mon State were arrested by the military junta at their home.
On September 11th, 23-year-old Ma Khine Tha Zin Oo who is from Chaung Taung village, Ye Township and runs a cake shop at Yan Myoe Aung Ward, 21-year-old Ma Mi Mi and Ma Soe Soe and another two women, (five women in total), have also been arrested.

HURFOM: On September 13th, 2024, the 310th artillery regiment based in Thane Za Yet, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State launched at least eight indiscriminate artillery attacks targeting residential villages. There have been no armed clashes in the area to warrant these attacks.
One of the artillery shells exploded between the “Pha Yar Gone” and the “Myout Kyaung” monasteries in Kha Ywelve village injuring 66-year-old Daw Win Aye and 18-year-old Maung Hein Htet Aung.

HURFOM: On September 9th, 2024, the joint People’s Defense Forces attacked the “Pyu Saw Htee” military base in Kyauk Ne Maw village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division.
Following the attack, a military regiment consisting of about 100 troops entered Kyauk Ne Maw village by navy ship and stationed themselves in the village.

HURFOM: In the morning of September 11th, 2024, an armed clash took place between the military junta and the local People’s Defense Force at Kywel Htain Kone village, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division. The military regiment based at “Baw Di Karm” Bridge launched an artillery attack to support their troops.

Protected by military courts under the 2008 Constitution and a lack of transparency or investigation into any crime related to conflict-related sexual violence, survivors have suffered from trauma and a lack of accountability. Every quarter, the Human Rights Foundation of Monland (HURFOM) releases an update titled ‘Voice Up,’ which provides documentation and analysis on the violations perpetrated against women and girls in target areas of Mon State, Karen State and the Tanintharyi region.

HURFOM: On September 7th, 2024, the military junta arrested and extorted money from two local men from 12-Mile village, 10-Mile village tract, Kaw Thaung Township, Tenasserim Division.
Ko Pine Phyo and his friend went to Chan Phan village to buy “rubber slices” when they encountered a joint military patrol group. The soldiers and the Administrator, Kyaw Soe accused them of conducting a rubber trade without having an official license and arrested them.

HURFOM: On September 10th, 2024, a junta’s regiment arrested four residents from villages in Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division. The four victims have not yet been released.
The regiment launched military operations in Thar Yar Gone, Thel Pu Taung, Min Yat, Yaw Houng Wa, Pan Da Lell, Inn Sought and Tha Byar villages. The regiment searched houses in Yaw Houng Wa village and arrested a villager entroute to Dawei City by motorbike.

35-year-old Ko Ba Htoo and his wife were walking to a rubber plantation to do some cleaning when Ko Ba Htoo stepped on a landmine.
