Junta’s drone attack injuries six residents in Tenasserim

HURFOM: A military regiment consisting of about 200 troops fought with the local People’s Defense Force in Burnlaw village track, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division, from September 4th to 9th, 2024.  The military junta employed drone attacks that injured six residents.

“The three villagers from Burnlin village sustained injuries on September 7th, 8th and 9th, another three villagers from western Burnlay village were also injured by the drone attack,” said a local source.

53-year-old U Soe Lwin, 42-year-old Ko Thar Pu and a 44-year-old unknown villager from Burnlin village were injured on September 7th and 8th.

On September 9th, 55-year-old Daw Khin Well, 40-year-old U Sein Win and 30-year-old Daw Phyu Zin Htwe from western Burnlay village were also injured by the drone attack, according to a member of a local rescue team who wants to remain anonymous.

The injured villagers are receiving treatment and their injuries are not considered serious.

Military tension persists in the Burnlaw village tract and in some villages, the entire population has fled.

In the first week of January, 2024, an armed clash broke out in Burnlaw village track and the military junta launched aerial attacks causing civilian casualties.
