Entire Ah Nin village flees due to constant and indiscriminate artillery attack

HURFOM: The Ah Nin Police Station based in Ah Nin village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State launched constant and indiscriminate attacks on the village damaging a home and forcing all the residents to flee from their homes.
Because of rumors of the joint revolutionary forces attacking the Ah Nin Police Station at noon on March 18, 2024 the village was targeted with indiscriminate artillery attacks.
“The villagers were afraid of possible armed clashes and sought shelter in the nearby forest and plantation farms. The artillery attack damaged a house. The entire village has fled from their homes,” said a local villager.
At the moment, the Karen National Liberation Army and its alliances are stationed at Karen villages near Ah Nin and Well Wun villages.
Locals witnessed more than 100 troops of the New Mon State Party (AD – Anti Military Dictatorship) near the village in the second week of March.
“The revolutionary forces frequently attacked the Ah Nin Police Station. There have been more troops in the village after every attack took place. The villagers are afraid of moving around. Some villagers have taken shelter at the village monastery,” said an Ah Nin villager.
On January 31st, 2024, the joint revolutionary forces attacked Ah Nin and Htin Shu Police Stations and the junta responded with air assaults. A novice and two villagers were injured and two houses were damaged.
