No trace of four disappeared villagers in Thanbyuzayat Township

HURFOM: On March 6th, 2024, two men from Ka Rope Pi village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State left home to buy cooking items for an “ordination ceremony”. They never returned home.
“It has been more than 10 days. They haven’t come back yet. We have no trace of them,” said a Ka Rope Pi resident.
Two of the disappeared villagers are 40-year-old Nai Than Zaw, 50-year-old Nai Ah Kyel. Friends and family members have not been able to contact either of the men.
In addition, 40-year-old Nai Kun Tea and Nai Kun Tint from An Khel village, Thanbyuzayat Township were arrested by an unknown group on March 2 and they have not been released yet as of today.
“People are disappearing without any reason so villagers are frightened,” said a source from Thanbyuzayat Township.
The military junta’s regiments, the Karen National Liberation Army, Mon State Revolutionary Force, People’s Defense Force and other armed revolutionary organizations are active along the Ye – Thanbyuzayat Highway Road.
