Junta’s artillery attack kills a civilian in Ka Lane Aung

HURFOM: On September 1st, 2024, Kan Bauk based Mawrawaddy Navy Command launched artillery attack to Ka Lane Aung Town, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim and one of the artillery shells dropped and exploded on a house of 50-year-old U Maung Thein who lived in Aung Mittar 3rd Street, Ka Lane Aung Town.

The first artillery shell dropped and exploded outside the town but the second one hit the house of U Maung Thein. He died on the spot but his family member sent him/his body to the Dawei General Hospital by ambulance,” said a local source.

Then, the dead body of U Mang Thein was sent back to Ka Lane Aung Town from the Dawei General Hospital and cremated by his family members on September 2nd.

The junta’s aircraft were flying over the town last night (September 5th). Then, there had been more than ten big and small weapon shooting. We’re worrying about a potential armed clash,” said a Ka Lane Aung resident.

The artillery attack by the Mawrawaddy Navy Command also killed two children from Zar D village, Yebyu Township on May 15th and four family members, including a 8-month-old child, on June 7th.
