Two civilians killed by junta’s artillery attack in Bilin

HURFOM: On May 24th, 2024, the 3rd Light Infantry Battalion targeted Taung Tha Htay Gone village, Pha Yar Sate village tract, Bilin Township, in Mon State with at least eight artillery attacks. There were no active armed clashes, and the attacks killed two villagers.
A 30-year-old man and woman were killed and five other residents, including 11-year-old child sustained injuries.
“There was an artillery attack at noon. Two villagers were killed. About 10 houses were also destroyed,” said a local source.
The injured have been receiving treatment at a clinic in the Brigade No #1 of the Karen National Union.
According to the statement by the Karen National Union, six residents have been killed and another 22 villagers injured by the junta’s artillery attacks in the Thaton District which is controlled by the KNU.
