Two women injured in Innwa Bank attack in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: On January 12th, 2024, the Kyike Hto based joint revolutionary forces traveling in two trucks attacked junta’s security forces guarding the Innwa Bank in Kyike Hto Town, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State.
Two civilian women sustained injuries and a member of the junta’s militia group was killed during the shooting incident, according to a local rescue team.
“The shooting incident took just five minutes. A member of the militia was killed while two women suffered minor injuries to their thighs and arms. It isn’t life-threatening. I don’t know their names. They’ve been sent to Kyike Hto General Hospital,” said an official of the local rescue team.
The junta has since tightened security both inside and outside the town, and is conducting “stop and checks” at every junction in the town.
Residents are concerned as this was the first shooting incident since the 2021 attempted coup.
