HURFOM: The military junta has reinforced its troop presence at No 317 Artillery Battalion neary Maw Ka Nin new village, Ye Township, in Mon State.
The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) is expecting an armed clash will take place very soon. The KNLA warned villagers to move out within a week, local sources told HURFOM.
“The Karen soldiers have given us seven days to move out. I’ve already moved my belongings and moved out to a different place. There are some villagers who don’t move out and plan to stay,” said one resident from Maw Ka Nin.
According to local sources, there have been frequent armed clashes between #317 Artillery Battalion and the revolution forces.
“There was a shooting in the new village last month. Staying near a military base isn’t peaceful. It’s scary. Now, there are lots of soldiers in the artillery battalion. No one knows what will happen next,” said a local villager.
