Junta’s indiscriminate artillery attacks to Kyone Doe Town frightens villagers

HURFOM: The military junta has been launching indiscriminate artillery attacks targeting areas in Kyone Doe Town, Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State. The Karen National Liberation Army and its alliance forces are also active in villages in these areas. The situation is frightening villagers who worry that armed clashes will soon follow.
Military aircraft are also flying over villages every day, according to local residents
“There are artillery explosions every day in Kyone Doe. We also hear the sound of military aircraft every day. There is no armed clash currently but we worry that the artillery shells will drop on our houses and cause damage and causality. No one goes outside after the sunset,” said a Kyone Doe resident.
Junta’s regiment stationed themselves at the monastery in Dhammasa village, Kyikemayaw Township, Mon State and launched artillery attacks into conflict areas.
“The army is still in the village monastery. We have to be careful with our movement. Sometimes, we hear the sound of artillery attacks,” said one villager.
On June 10th, 2025, the military junta targeted Myauk Kyar Inn village near Kyone Doe Town with artillery attacks that injured four children from Kone Myint Thar Yar Ward.
