Junta fires Administrator for failure to collect any conscripts

HURFOM: In the first week of July, 2025, U Soe Thein, the Administrator for Phyu Ba village, Paung Township, Mon State, was dismissed by the junta as he failed to collect any military conscripts for the 14th batch of training.
“The junta punishes administrators who fail to collect enough conscripts. U Soe Thein was dismissed because he did not send any conscripts for the 14th military training batch,” said a source from Paung Township who is close to the junta.
Paung Township has 50 wards or village tracts and 110 villages and each village or ward administrator had sent at least four conscripts.
To date, nearly 2,400 young men were forced into military training. Those from the 9th batch were recently sent to the front lines.
