HURFOM: Within ten months, from January to October, 2025, junta airstrikes in Mon, Karen and Tenasserim regions of Southern Burma have killed 89 civilians and injured 210 residents, according to the data collected by HURFOM.
The junta conducted at least 62 airstrikes during this time, killing 45 men, 24 women and 20 children. The attacks also injured 121 men, 49 women and 40 children.

Since August, 2025, when the junta announced they would hold a 3-phase election, stretching into 2026, the army has conducted more airstrikes in Kyike Hto Township of Mon State, Kaw Ka Rate and Kyarinnseikyi Townships of Karen State and Myeik, Tenasserim and Southern Dawei Townships of Tenasserim Division.
“Since August, the junta has routinely dropped bombs on regions which are included in the first part of their sham election. The junta is targeting innocent civilians to regain the territories they lost to the revolutionary armed forces,” said Nai Aue Mon, the Program Director of the HURFOM.
The junta also attacked non-military targets such as religious buildings and schools, killing and injuring monks, schoolteachers and students, he continued.
“The junta has frequently used aircraft this year. The indiscriminate airstrikes cause more casualties and infrastructure damage,” said a data analyst of HURFOM.
In 2024, the junta conducted 21 airstrikes in Mon, Karen and Tenasserim regions killing 46 innocent civilians and injuring at least 33 villagers.
