HURFOM: On November 5th, 2025, a junta regiment advanced into Yar Phu village track, Yebyu Township, Tenasserim Division and 35-year-old Ko Phai Dit from Thar Yar Mon village encountered the regiment while trying to flee his home. The regiment checked his phone accusing him of sharing information with revolutionary forces. They then beat him and later, placed under arrest.

When the soldiers entered the village, he tried to flee home and hid at the plantation but he was found. They checked his phone and messages. Then, they asked him, “Do you work as an informant” and arrested him. They tied him with rope and beat him,” said his wife.

Villagers and sources close to his family said he was released on November 7th, two days after the arrest.

The regiment stationed themselves in Thar Yar Mon village for two days and released the man when they retreated from the village on November 7th. Ko Phai Dit had to receive medical treatment as a result of being beaten and tortured during the arrest.

The regiment is moving from one village to another. They didn’t remain in any single village for long. but they are mostly stationed in Yar Phu and Log Tie villages for periods,” said a villager from Yar Phu village track.

Currently, there are no armed clashes in Yebyu Township; however, the junta’s regiment routinely advances into the area and arrests local villagers. Some villagers arrested by the regiment have forcefully disappeared, villagers reported HURFOM.
