Junta’s troops shot and arrest three local men for transporting gasoline

HURFOM: On February 14th, 2025, military junta troops shot and arrested three local men from Lell Taung Yar village, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division who tried to transport gasoline by motorbike.
“The two men were arrested but one managed to escape. The junta’s troops chased and shot him, but he still escaped,” said a Lell Taung Yar villager.
A nearby elderly woman was injured by the volley of bullets shot by the junta troops.
The three men were from Ta Ku village and there is no confirmation about their identities.
“It looked like a battle. They indiscriminately shot many times. The man they chased managed to escape. A local woman was injured in the shooting,” said another local man.
On February 15th, junta troops also arrested two men and three motorbikes were sent to Tenasserim Town, according to a local source.
In the second week of February, 2025, about 100 troops reached Lell Taung Yar village and stationed themselves in the village center and surrounding area.
According to local sources, beginning in December 2024, the military junta destroyed eight village roads in Ta Ku village tract and strictly banned the transportation of rice and gasoline.
