Junta torches 50 houses in Tha Yet Chaung in October

HURFOM: Since August, 2025, junta regiments have been divided into two military columns and advanced into ten villages nearby the “Shwe Gu Bridge” Security Gate and the “Tha Yet Hna Kwa Bridge” Security Gate in Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division.

On October 9th, the regiments torched roughly 50 houses in Saw Phyar, Moe Shwe Gone and Kyuak Hlay Gar villages, Tha Yet Chaung Township.

17 houses from Moe Shwe Gone and 30 houses from Saw Phyar and Kyauk Hlay Gar villages were burnt down and destroyed. Other homes were burgled. 20 motorbikes, bicycles and furniture were looted,” said a villager.

On October 12th, the regiments stationed themselves at Yaung Maw village and then reached Thin Gyune village on October 13th. They also torched and looted houses in Thin Gyune village.

On September 7th, regiments torched 30 houses in Yan Taung and eight houses in Thin Gyune village. On September 29th and 30th, 73 houses from Kyauk Hlay Gar villages were burnt down and destroyed.

According to the data collected by HURFOM, in August, junta forces burnt down about 70 houses in Moe Shwe Gone and Saw Phyar villages, Tha Yet Chaung Township.
