Junta’s air strike injures five villagers in Kaw Ka Rate

HURFOM: On March 4th and 5th, 2025, the military junta launched airstrikes targeting villages in Southern Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State.   The air assaults injured five villagers including a child.

On March 4th, three military fighter jets from the “Hmaw Bee” military airport shot three rockets at Bot Die village, Southern Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State. One of the rocket explosions injured a 40-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy. A school also had some damage.

At noon yesterday (March 4th), we saw three fighter jets flying over our village. Then, we heard the sound of an explosion. The aircraft shot three rockets but only one of them exploded. Two local villagers were injured and a motorbike was damaged,” said a neighboring villager.

At 1 am on March 5th, the junta’s fighter jet dropped two 500-pound bombs on Ah Soon village. one of the bombs exploded in front of an empty house.

The explosion injured a local man and two women and destroyed three houses.

There have been frequent battles in Kaw Nwelve, Yaw Thit Kone, Ah Soon, Ngar Tie, Ta Tan Kuu, Yan Kote and Sin Kone villages in Southern Kaw Ka Rate Township and residents are collecting food and preparing to flee.

The military junta continued with artillery, drone and air assaults resulting in at least 100 houses from Kaw Nwelve, Ta Tan Kuu, Yan Kote and Sin Kone villages being burnt and destroyed.
