Junta’s artillery attack injures child in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: At about 1 am on March 4th, 2025, the Thane Za Yat based 310th artillery battalion launched at least ten 120-mm artillery attacks on villages in Kyike Hto Township, Mon State even though there was no active armed clash in the area.
The artillery shells exploded in Sit Kwin, Mote Kha Malt and Thone Kwa villages which are under the control of the Karen National Union.
One of the artillery shells exploded on the house of Daw Pan Ye in Sit Kwin village and injured a child.
“His/her injuries are not life-threatening. Now, he/she is receiving treatment in a liberated area,” said a local villager.
Local’s report the reckless artillery attacks have injured at least ten villagers from nearby villages.
“Besides artillery attacks, we’re also targeted by air attacks. That’s why we dare not stay in the village,” said a local woman.
On March 5th, 2025, the military junta launched an air assault on Sin Twin village, Kyike Hto Township and the attack destroyed a rubber plantation outside the village.
