HURFOM: At about noon on January 29th, 2024, a junta military regiment entered Ah Nan Kwin village, Kyarinnseikyi Township, Karen State and burnt down, 23 houses in Ward #2 and #3. All were destroyed, according to a social worker who helps displaced villagers.
“There was no armed clash last night. But they entered the village at noon and burnt down houses. They’d already burnt down half of the village at the start of the conflict. Now, they burnt down houses again. It looks like the entire village will be burnt down to ash,” said a local source.

The Ah Nan Kwin residents had fled their homes in August, 2024 due to the heavy armed clash between the military junta and the Karen National Liberation Army. They took shelter in nearby forests, mountains, rock caves, and rubber plantations. Some fled to urban areas.
“No one is left in the village. no one dares to go home. Some villagers even don’t have a home to go back to,” said a social worker.
At the moment, the joint revolutionary forces have surrounded and attacked the Ah Nan Kwin military strategic hill and there is constant military tension followed by frequent armed clashes.
