Five women injured by junta’s artillery and drone attacks in Tenasserim

HURFOM: At about 3 pm on January 29^th, 2025, the 306^th artillery regiment, which is based in the village of Maw Tone targeted Lell Taung Yar and Nyaung Pin Gone villages, Tenasserim Township, Tenasserim Division with artillery and drones’ attacks.

There were no armed clashes in the area. The junta’s attack injured five women and burnt and destroyed three houses.

“One artillery shell exploded on a house in Lell Taung Yar village. Soon after that, junta’s drones also dropped bombs on the house,” said a Lell Taung Yar villager.

The artillery and drone attacks injured 14-year-old Ma Chit Khun Cho, Daw Than Kyi, Ma Thi Thi Soe, Daw Chit and Ma Tell Su Hline.  The house burnt down and was destroyed.

According to a local source, all of the injured residents were admitted to the Tenasserim Township General Hospital. Ma Thi Thi Soe is in critical condition with a head injury.

“The military hospital in Tenasserim refused to accept the patients as they were from the village where the PDF are active. They also blocked all entrances and exits of the village,” said one villager.

At about 5:30 pm, the 306^th artillery regiment used drones to drop bombs on Nyaung Pin Gone village and that attack burnt and destroyed two houses.

On January 22^nd, 2025, the junta’s artillery attack injured four men and three women from Pa Wa and Eastern Thar Ra Pone villages, Tenasserim Township. One of the victims was killed in that attack.
