Two local men arrested in Pu Law

HURFOM: On January 21st, 2025, 45-year-old U Than Tun and 35-year-old Ko Thet Ko from Ward #2, Pu Law Town, Tenasserim Division were arrested and taken by the 285th Light Infantry Battalion.
U Than Tun is a former ward Administrator who served in the NLD government and Ko Thet Ko is a taxi driver.
Neither are linked to the People’s Defense Force nor have they ever provided financial support to the PDF, according to the local sources.
“The junta has been arresting those who served in the NLD government and innocent people, leaving us living in fear,” said a local resident.
No one knows the reason for the arrests and they have not been allowed to meet with family members.
On January 6th, 2025, the junta arrested seven local residents including a CDM schoolteacher.
