Three civilians injured by junta’s artillery attack in Kyike Hto

HURFOM: At noon on December 21st, 2024, local resistance forces using drones, attacked the “Moke Pa Lin” security gate, in Kyike Hto Township, Mon State.
Soon after the attack, the 602nd artillery regiment launched an indiscriminate artillery attack targeting residential areas. “Soon after the “Moke Pa Lin” gate was attacked by the resistance forces, the junta targeted our village with artillery attacks. Three villagers, including a Grade-9 student, got injured,” said a resident.
The artillery explosion injured 15-year-old, Grade-9 student Naw Phu Pwint Kyaw, 40-year-old Saw Nay Lin and 48-year-old Saw San Kyaw.
“Whenever their military base is attacked, the junta targets residential villages. They must be held accountable for their actions,” said Ba Do Saw Aye Nile, the Secretary of the Thaton District Karen National Union.
Also on December 19th, 2024, the junta’s indiscriminate artillery attack killed 32-year-old Ko Myo Hline Win and seriously injured his 27-year-old wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Win.
