December 20, 2024
HURFOM: At about 3 pm on December 17th, 2024, a Basic Education High School in Ah Lu Lay village, Bilin Township, Mon State was recklessly burnt down and destroyed by the military junta.
The local residents told HURFOM that the school was burnt down to ash.
The school had been closed for years due to armed conflicts in the area. The junta claimed that the revolutionary forces were active around the school.
“The school was closed for a long time. But the revolutionary forces are active around the school. People said that is the reason for the junta to burn down the school,” said a Bilin resident.
More than 60 schools have been closed in Bilin Township due to the armed conflict and most cannot be opened.
