Kyike Kaw Administrator’s house sealed and seized

HURFOM: On August 1st, 2024, a joint team of police forces and officials from different government departments sealed and seized the house owned by the Ward Administrator of Kyike Kaw Ward, Thu Wunna Wati Town, Thaton Township, Mon State.
Administrator U Aye Soe, had been arrested in the second week of July after being accused of having connection with the People’s Defense Force. He was charged under the Anti-Terrorist Act sections 50(j) and 52(a).
“He served as ward Administrator since the era of the NLD government. He was accused of supporting the PDF and arrested. On the day when the authorities came to seal and seize his house, they forcefully removed his wife and two children,” said a Kyike Kaw resident.
The military junta has detained U Soe Aye at the Thaton Prison and banned him from meeting with his family members.
Four other Thaton residents have been arrested by the junta after being accused of cooperating with U Soe Aye. They have not yet been released.
