Woman killed by bomb dropped by drone in Kaw Bane

HURFOM: On July 8th, 2024, two drones dropped four bombs on Kaw Bane village, Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State killing a local woman and damaging three houses.
The deceased, 62-year-old Daw Khwar Mi, died on the way to the Mawlamyine General Hospital.
“Two drones dropped four bombs at about 7 pm. There was also shooting from the village. The drones were shot at and dropped down nearby Min Yaw village. A woman was killed by a bomb explosion and four houses were also damaged,” said a resident.
Villagers reported to HURFOM that the drones were destroyed by junta troop gunfire.
“We aren’t safe in the village. There has been shooting from both sides, we have to live with fear. Now, the situation is quiet but we don’t know when they might shoot again,” said a Kaw Bane resident.
On May 16th, 2024, a junta navy ship targeted Pha Yar Gyi village, Kaw Ka Rate Township with artillery attacks killing a woman and injuring a local resident.
