Junta’s air and navy attacks kill three villagers in Tha Yet Chaung

HURFOM: On May 10th, 2024, the military junta used helicopters, jet fighters and navy ships to attack Ka Net Thiri village, Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division. The incursion killed three villagers.
The junta used two helicopters and a fighter jet to drop more than 20 bombs to Ka Net Thiri village and the navy ship anchored at the west of the village also launched an artillery attack on the village.
The attack and explosion killed three 40-year-old men who were returning from their work.
“They intentionally targeted the place where many houses are located. The strength of the explosion was so big that the houses were immediately destroyed and burnt down,” said a local woman.
The junta also bombed Gone Nyin Sake village, Tha Yet Chaung Township and injured two civilians including a 60-year-old man.
The military junta has launched air assault on Ka Net Thiri village since May 5th and that killed at least five villagers.
“At the moment, there is no armed clash near Ka Net Thiri and surrounding villages. There is no movement of the resistance forces also,” said a local source.
On May 8th, the junta’s air assault on Ka Net Thiri village killed two 15-year-old children who were watching a football match near their school.
