19-year-old woman arrested in Long Lone

HURFOM: On February 24, 2024, the military junta arrested a 19-year-old woman from Pa Nyit village, Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division.
According to the local sources, Ma Khine Zar Soe went to Dawei City to visit her husband and was arrested in front of the Long Lone City Police Station.
“Her car was stopped in front of the Long Lone City Police Station. The junta’s troops released all the adult women in the car but arrested only her,” said the elder sister of the victim.
Her sister confirmed she was detained and interrogated in the Long Lone City Police Station.
“She was interrogated at the Long Loen Police Station. We were allowed to meet her on March 4th and we asked (the authorities) when our sister would be released. They replied that they won’t release her as they have something to ask her,” continued her sister.
In February, 2023, two Pa Nyit villagers were arrested by the military junta and their family members have not had contact with them for more than a year.
