HURFOM: In the evening of September 14th, 2025, joint revolutionary forces attacked the junta’s regiment that was temporarily based in the “Yat Kan Sin” Monastery in Pa Kar Ri village, Dawei Eastern Forest area, Dawei Township, Tenasserim Division.
During the battle, Pa Kar Ri Police Station launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on Pa Kar Ri and Pa Khat villages forcing more than 3,500 villagers to flee home.

“Killing civilians by indiscriminate artillery attacks have already happened two or three times in Pa Kar Ri. The artillery shells exploded on the houses and killed the villagers. So, no one dares to stay in the village when the battle breaks out,” said one social worker helping the displaced community.
The armed clash took place for half an hour and displaced villagers have hidden in nearby mountains, forests and plantations.
A 90-year-old man who lived nearby the “Yat Kan Sin Monastery” was killed during the clash but villagers were unable to pick up his body due to the intensity of the battle.
On September 15th, another armed clash broke out and the junta’s army launched air assaults on nearby villages, according to Pa Kar Ri villagers.
On August 15th, 2025, a regiment consisting of about 300 troops advanced into the Dawei Eastern Forest area and clashed with the resistant groups forcing thousands of residents from Wa Gone, Bawa Pin, 23-Mile and 25-Mile villages to flee their homes.
The period of displacement is becoming prolonged, and people are now facing food and health problems, said social workers.
