Junta shoots and injures five Pa La residents

HURFOM: On August 17 and 18, 2023, the military junta shot five residents from Pa La Town, Tenasserim Division, injuring all. 

On August 17, a military truck struck a landmine, causing junta soldiers to recklessly respond with gunfire that injured two villagers.

On August 18, Burmese soldiers shot three men sitting near the entrance signboard of Pa La Town.

The three men were sitting near the entrance signboard of Pa La. When the soldiers approached them.  The men were afraid and tried to run away. Then the soldiers shot them,” said a resident.

The injured victims were sent to Myike General Hospital.

They are patrolling the town and order people who encounter them to do a U-turn and go back. They  recklessly shoot their weapons from their base,” said local people.

The junta has reinforced their troops in Pa La,  and they recklessly launched artillery attacks, without cause.
