Woman shot and injured on Ye-Thanbyuzayat Highway

HURFOM: On August 16, 2023, a vehicle was attacked on the Ye-Thanbyuzayat Highway Road near Aung Thu Kha Gas Station at the entrance of Hnit Ka Yin village, Ye Township, Mon State.
A female passenger was shot and injured. The bullet penetrated the right chest of the woman.
The vehicle was attacked at about noon while traveling from Ye to Mawlamyine.
“The woman was shot and sent to the Mawlamyine General Hospital. We don’t know which group is responsible for the attack,” said a car driver on the scene.
Both the military junta and People’s Defense Forces have engaged in frequent armed clashes, around Ka Nin Ka Maw, Bay Lamine, Lane Maw Chan, Aung Thar Yar and Aye Kabar villages, all of which are located along Ye-Thanbyuzayat Road.
In April, 2023, three travelers were shot and injured while another two were shot and killed on the Ye-Thanbyuzayat Highway Road.
