HURFOM: On March 18th, 2025, the joint team of junta’s troops and police members stopped travelers and checked their UID (unique identifier) at the entrances or exists of towns and villages in Long Lone Township, Tenasserim Division.
During the inspection, the junta’s forces arrested two schoolteachers who joined CDM (civil disobedience movement) and they have not been released as of today.

Moreover, no one knows the whereabouts of the two arrested and their family members have not had contact with them as of today.
“Now, junta’s troops are checking the smart card (UID) very often. In our region, most people don’t apply for the smart card (UID). We are using our national identification cards for travelling,” said a local villager.
In order to replace the currently-used national identification cards with the smart card (UID), the military junta has been collecting bioelectronic data of citizens and giving the applicants a document paper which includes ten-digit unique serial numbers.
