Junta’s artillery attack kills local woman and injures child in Kyone Doe

HURFOM: On February 1st, 2025, an artillery regiment operating under the 12th military operation’s command targeted Phar Kya village, Kyone Doe Town, Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State with a 170-mm artillery attack. Artillery shells exploded at a nearby rubber plantation.
A 20-year-old migrant worker Nan Myint Myint San was shocked by the explosion and died of a heart attack. A 12-year-old child, Mam Pine Pine was injured by artillery debris.
The rubber plantation was also burnt down and destroyed, and a nearby house sustained minor damage.
In early January, 2025, the soldiers in civilian clothes launched a military operation near Kyone Doe Town and on February 1st, an armed clash broke out between Koe Tie and Kyar Inn villages. The Kyone Doe based artillery regiment has been launching constant artillery attacks forcing more than 1,500 residents to flee their homes.
On January 30th, 2025, the military junta launched an artillery attack on Taung Kyar Inn village which is near Kyone Doe Town and destroyed numerous houses.
