HURFOM: In Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State, local residents worry about possible armed clashes after the harvest season and are packing their belongings, clothes, food and medicine in preparation to flee.
Local resistance forces warned residents in early November that they would provoke armed clashes in Kaw Ka Rate Township after the harvest season.

Local residents are worried that military junta’s forces will burgle their homes and loot their e belongings when they flee.
“If we have to leave our home, we are worried that the junta’s troops will loot our belongings and burn down our houses like what happened in Dhammasa village,” said a resident.
In December, 2024, the military junta reinforced their troop presence in villages in Kaw Ka Rate Township and have frequently battled with the local resistance forces.
