Junta’s artillery attack killed young woman and injures other four residents in Dawei

HURFOM: On November 15th, 2024, the troop of the Kaw Thu Lay Army (KTLA) entered Yaung Maw and Shin Mote Htee villages, Dawei Township, Tenasserim and at 8 pm on November 16th, the junta’s regiment stationed at “Shwe Gu Bridge” on Dawei-Myeik Highway Road launched indiscriminate artillery attacks targeting the villages.
The artillery explosion killed 18-year-old Ma Chit Moe Swe from Shin Mote Htee village and injured her husband and elderly sister and another couple.
Since the “Shwe Gu Bridge” security gate was attacked by joint resistance forces in the first week of November, the military junta has routinely launched indiscriminate artillery attacks on nearby villages.
Yaung Maw, Shin Mote Htee, Saw Wa and Nyaung Zin villages are located near the “Shwe Gu Bridge” security gate.
There have been frequent armed clashes in Dawei Township and on November 18th, 2024, a civilian was killed in an armed clash in Dawei City.
