Junta burns down ten houses in Pu Law

HURFOM: On November 3rd, 2024, the 285th Light Infantry Battalion engaged with the local People’s Defense Force near Kyaung Nate village, Pu Law Township, Tenasserim Division.
The regiment launched an artillery attack and then entered Kyaung Nate village, and burnt down ten houses.
“Ten houses were burnt down and eight of them were burnt to ash. Two had minor damages. Before the clash, the regiment launched artillery attacks forcing some villagers to flee,” said a local source.
Now, all of the residents in Kyaung Nate village have fled home and taken shelter at relatives’ houses in nearby villages.
“Our village is close to the military base. When launching military operations, the regiment usually stations itself in our village and searches houses. Now, those remaining in the village have run away,” said a displaced person.
According to the data collected by HURFOM, on September 18th, the junta’s regiment burnt down 30 houses from Shat Pone village, Pu Law village and also burnt and killed three local villagers.
