Junta arrests local man in Ye Town

HURFOM: On March 11th, 2025, the military junta arrested the son of U Kyaw Kyaw, (45 years old), at his home in Thiri Kay Mar Ward, Ye Town, Ye Township, Mon State. The junta accused him of having connections with the People’s Defense Force.
“The soldiers arrived at about 11 pm and arrested him. They justified that U Kyaw Kyaw’s son has a connection with the PDF,” said a local source.
U Kyaw Kyaw’s son had disappeared from home for a year, and family members did not have any contact with him. The junta suspects that he joined the PDF.
As of March 12th, no one knows the whereabouts of U Kyaw Kyaw’s son and family members have not been allowed any contact with him.
On March 9th, 2025, the junta also arrested eight residents from Ye Town claiming the arrests are related to the killing of a Surveillance Policeman known as Myo Thu.
