Two young men shot and killed in Mudon

HURFOM: On March 10th, 2025, local villagers found two 25-year-old young men shot and killed at the entrance of Ka Log Tog village, Mudon Township, Mon State.
The two young men were Ko Ah Chai aka Mon Thai from Ka Log Tog village and Maung Ka Lan from Kaw Pe Htaw village.
“I think both were shot and killed at night. Their bodies were found in the morning. The body of Ah Chai has already been cremated but the body of Maung Ka Lan hasn’t been cremated yet as they are waiting for his family members in Thailand,” said a Ka Log Tog villager.
Gunshot wounds were found in their heads, backs and arms.
“Ah Chai was always thieving and robbing people. Both the junta and the PDF had issued a kill warrant for him,” said a local villager.
As of March 11th, neither the junta nor the PDF had released a statement regarding the killings, and the Ka Log Tog village Administrator did not reply to calls made by HURFOM.
According to data collected by HURFOM, there have been 38 extrajudicial killings in Mon, Karen and Tenasserim regions in February, 2025.
