Junta’s air assaults destroy 17 houses and a monastery in Bilin

HURFOM: On February 9th, 2025, the military junta launched air assaults on Ta Gay Long village, Bilin Township, Mon State which is under the control of the Thaton District Karen National Union. The assaults destroyed 17 houses and a monastery, and damaged pagodas and religious buildings. Villagers were forced to flee their homes.
There was no active armed clash in the nearby area at that time.

“The monastery and pagodas were destroyed. There were no monks in the monastery so there were no casualties. We dare not go back to the village. Now people are hiding in the paddy fields,” said a local villager.
On January 16th, the junta launched a drone attack on a school in Ta Gay Long village and there was also an air assault on the village in April, 2024.
