HURFOM: At approximately noon on May 14th, 2025, a military junta fighter jet dropped bombs on a restaurant and a chain of shops located in “Out Bo Tel” and “Daw Na Taung Kyaw”.  This area is known as the old route in Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State.  The bombing killed three residents and injured five.

Two residents were killed at the spot. Another died on the way to hospital. Five residents sustained injuries and received care from a KNU (Karen National Union) medical team,” said a local source.

There have been intense and constant battles in Kaw Ka Rate Township with the military junta launching air assaults, artillery attacks and dropping bombs by drones. As a result, travelers and truck drivers were forced to use the “Daw Na Taung Kyaw” old route for transportation.

On May 11th, the Kyone Doe based 546th Light Infantry Battalion targeted Naut Ta Marm village with an artillery attack that killed a child and injured two villagers.

The junta’s regiment used drones to drop bombs on Naung Nile village the same day and one explosion killed a 50-year-old resident and injured at least three others.
