Woman injured by yet more indiscriminate artillery attacks in Thane Za Yet

HURFOM: On October 22nd, 2024, the 310th artillery regiment targeted Thane Za Yet Town, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State with four indiscriminate artillery attacks. There have been no active armed clashes in the nearby area.
One of the artillery shells exploded on the “Ah Nyar Thar” restaurant and the explosion injured 53-year-old Daw Than Than Nwe who works there.
“She got a minor injury to her neck. Now, she is receiving treatment at the Thane Za Yet Hospital,” said a resident.
On October 12th, 2024, the 207th light infantry battalion also launched indiscriminate artillery attacks that injured three grandparents and grandchild in Ward #5.
“They target residential areas with artillery attacks as they like,” said a Thane Za Yet resident.
Even though there has been no active armed clash in the nearby area, the 310th artillery regiment and the 207th light infantry battalion are both stationed in Thane Za Yet. They are launching indiscriminate artillery attacks on the town and nearby villages that are under the control of the Karen National Union causing civilians’ casualties.
