A female passenger injured during attack to an express bus in Thanbyuzayat

HURFOM: At noon on October 7th, 2024, “Shwe Sin Sat Kyar” express bus was shot and attacked on Ye-Thanbyuzayat Highway Road nearby Aye Kabar village, Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State and a 30-year-old female passenger Ma Nwe Ye Lin was shot and injured during the attack.
“There are lots of Karen armed groups in the area. The military junta is also laying in ambush. We don’t know who is responsible for the attack,” said a local source from Thanbyuzayat Township.
Ma Nwe Ye Lin was shot at her left groin and she was sent to the Thanbyuzayat General Hospital with the assistance of local emergency and rescue teams.
There have been intense battles between the military junta and the joint resistance forces in Ye-Thanbyuzayat Highway Road since July, 2024. The resistance forces are active in the area and the military junta has been launching operation and laying in ambush.
In September, 2024, there has been at least six casualties of civilians by the junta’s indiscriminate attack on Ye-Thanbyuzayat Highway Road.
