Junta’s air assault injuries three villagers in Kaw Ka Rate

HURFOM: On September 29, 2024, the Mawlamyine based Southeast Military Command had launched an air assault to Min Yaw village, Kaw Ka Rate Township, Karen State without having any active armed clash in the area and injured three villagers and destroyed three houses.
The two aerial bombs dropped and exploded nearby a residential house and injured 42-year-old U Aung Maung and other two men who were sleeping in the house.
“The bombs were dropped at about 9 pm without any armed clash. The explosion took place beside a house and injured three villagers who were sleeping in the house,” said a Min Yaw resident.
The three victims have been receiving treatment in a hospital in a liberate area and most of the residents have fled their home.
“This is the first air attack in the village. Most villagers fled home after the attack. Only middle-aged men have left to guard their houses,” said another resident.
In March 27th, 2024, the joint resistance forces attacked the police station in Kaw Bane village, Kaw Ka Rate Township and after that attack, there has been frequent and intense battles in Kaw Ka Rate and Kyikemayaw Township. The junta’s troops have also stationed themselves in the villages.
The air assaults, the artillery and drone attacks of the military junta has killed and injured at least ten villagers and destroyed and burnt down more than 500 residential houses.
