Junta’s troops burn down six houses in Kaw Thaung

HURFOM: On August 24, 2024, a junta’s regiment consists of about 100 troops stationed at a school in “Kha Mount Pyoe Khin” nearby the 4th Bridge in Kaw Thaung Township, Tenasserim and in plantations in “Mar Ran” area.
The regiment, on August 19th, entered Kha Mount Ngae Chaung Wa village and burnt down six houses and three rafts of wood charcoal.
“Houses in Kha Mount Ngae Chaung Wa were burnt down. The junta’s troops also burnt down rafts of wood charcoal alongside the road,” said a resident from Kha Mount Ngae Chaung Wa village.
Moreover, the regiment arrested five residents from Kha Mount Gyi village.
“Five men between 30 and 40 years old were arrested. We know nothing about their whereabouts as of today,” said a villager form Kha Mount Gyi.
